Show Notes

For many military veterans who fought for Canada, surviving on a day-to-day basis back home is a challenge they hadn't anticipated. Often, they endure battles with mental health issues like PTSD, suffer from the lasting scars of severe wounds or – in far too many cases – end up homeless.

Meanwhile, Justin Trudeau told a town hall meeting that Canada’s veterans are “asking for more than we can give right now”.

The Equitas Society has organized the first annual Canadian Walk for Veterans, which will be held in cities across Canada on June 3, 2018. It’s an opportunity to learn the stories of veterans and foster a connection between the public and Canada’s war wounded.

Guests: Marc Burchell, president of the Equitas Society, which is comprised of military veterans who launched a class action lawsuit against the federal government
Aaron Bedard, military veteran and founder of the Annual Walk for Veterans
