Professor Bengio's research helped to create the groundwork for our AI technology today. When/if AI surpasses our human intelligence might AI wipe out humanity? Professor Bengio is a signatory to a letter by international entities which in part reads "mitigating the risk of AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war."
