What the heck is going on in Hollywood? Actors, producers, writers strike. Top grossing films of 2023 are Super Mario Brothers and Barbie. Oppenheimer is gathering momentum and the 'Barbenheimer' phenomenon is underway as moviegoers see the Barbie movie and Oppenheimer often on the same day. Murray Pomerance has strong views about what is going on with 'publicity instead of film' and films themselves, particularly Oppenheimer which Murray describes as "drab and hopeless and awful." He likes the Barbie movie though.
