Shane Wenzel is a Calgary homebuilder who posted to Twitter a few days ago that 10 confirmed homebuyers walked away from their home purchases when the BOC interest rate hit 5%. The homebuyers had secured financing when the BOC rate was 2-2.5% in early 2022.
