Researchers on earth have received a radio signal from an ancient galaxy nearly nine billion lightyears away. From an era long before our own solar system materialized. - An asteroid the size of a delivery truck came to within 3600 km of earth on Thursday. The closest such encounter in recorded history and much closer than satellites in orbit around the earth. Reason to be fearful or concerned? - New research published Monday in the Nature Geoscience Journal concludes the earth's core stopped rotating around 2009 and then slowly began rotating slowly in the opposite direction.
