Show Notes
Federal Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould introduced Bill C-75 to change Canada's criminal justice system by modifying the jury selection process and require judges to consider vulnerable populations in cases before them. The bill was introduced following the outcry about the acquital of Saskatchewan farmer Gerald Stanley in the death of Colten Boushie.
Will Bill C-75 be an improvement and successfully handle issues where discrimination is a concern?
Guest: Scott Newark, former Alberta prosecutor and executive officer of the Canadian Police Association, now a security and justice policy analyst and adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University
