The Montreal Economic Institute has tracked the effects of the Supreme Court of Canada granting Quebeckers (and only Quebeckers) the right to purchase private health insurance in the so-called 2005 Chaouili Decision. Quebec is consistently now the province with the highest public approval for mixed and private healthcare in Canada according to the Montreal Economic Institute.
France and Sweden are examples of how private companies and non-profit organizations account for a significant percentage of care providers in government-run insurance plans.
