Show Notes

The most important thing is for troubled youth to have strong relationships with adults, not just be isolated or rejected if they start being 'weird'.
There are a lot of social work and support programs across Canada, but not all families have the means to use them - and of course lots of kids don't 'want' help. Inevitably some will fall through the cracks.
Danny sits on a "Violence At Risk Assessment" team in Langley, which brings together school counsellors, police, social workers etc. so they can better spot issues before they happen. This was a tool that became really popular directly after Columbine.

Guest: Danny Ferguson. Youth social worker, manager with Youth Unlimited.
