A man set himself on fire at a protest outside the Manhattan courthouse where former U.S. president Trump is to stand trial. The man, Maxwell Azzarello has died in hospital.

Meanwhile, Jury selection is complete for the Trump trial for hush money allegedly paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in an effort to silence her during the run-up to the 2016 presidential election. The former U.S. president is facing 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. This is the first of four criminal trials Donald Trump could stand this year as he will engage for re-election as president, representing the Republican Party.
