The Holy Spirit convicts us to lay aside every weight of sin according to Hebrews 12:1, so we’ll avoid those things that lead to destruction. Jesus told His disciples that it was expedient, or to our advantage, that He go away so that the Holy Spirit, their comforter and counselor, could come.
