Micah - Because Of Your Sins

God takes sin seriously because sin destroys what is good. He made a good world that he wants us to enjoy and he has told us how we can enjoy it in righteous ways. However, we are often tricked by the lie that says God’s ways are harsh and restrictive, so we end up hiding from God and trying to enjoy what He has created in wicked ways that leave us enslaved, feeling ashamed and alone. God wants us to see that sin never end’s up giving us what we hope it will and that He is our generous Father who wants us to come to him with our desires.

DISCUSS:

• Do you think of God as patient, caring and clear? Which of

those is the most challenging to you and why?

• Describe how your thoughts about God impact how you live.

• Why is it important to know that the things God has created

aren’t bad?

• What are some examples of seeking good things in wicked

ways?

• Micah 6:12 says that the people have lied so much that their

tongue’s automatically lie. Talk about some other ways that

sinning can develop desires for wickedness in our flesh.

• If confession is a gift from God then why is confession so scary?

What are some ways we can wisely practice the spiritual

discipline of confession?

PRAY:

Ask the Lord to help reveal to you what it is you have been seeking

in your sin. Ask him to show you the difference between your

desire for good things and the desires of the flesh you have

developed. Ask Him to reveal a christian brother or sister that you

can begin to practice confession with.

RESPOND:

List the ways that God has given you good things. This can help you

see that God has been generous with you and that you can trust

him
