Why Don’t American Catholic Politicians Defend the Faith_

On September 12, 1960, the Democrat’s Presidential Candidate, Senator John Kennedy, described his view of being a public official and a Catholic. “I am not the Catholic candidate for President. I am the Democratic Party’s candidate for President who happens also to be a Catholic.” Ever since that time, Catholics who wanted to hold public office – mayors, governors, congressmen, senators, judges and whatever else – followed Mr. Kennedy’s lead. That includes the current President, Joe Biden. Such an attitude is erroneous, raises scandal for the faithful, and imperils the immortal sould of those who act upon it.
