Since he came to the Papal throne in Two Thousand Thirteen, many have had reason to doubt Pope Francis’s allegiance to Church tradition. Since so many of the Church’s basic teachings rely upon traditional doctrines, this is a major problem. This episode of the Return to Order Moment looks at two situations in which Pope Francis appears to be determined to discard traditional Catholic practice and teaching. The first concerns Pope Francis’s recent statement that severely restricts the use of the Traditional Latin Mass. The second concerns a recent handwritten letter that Pope Francis sent to Fr. James Martin, SJ, which implies support for the LGBTQ agenda that Fr. Martin promotes.
