Show Notes
On this episode of the Retirement Matters Podcast, we jump into what Dale calls the Mr. Miyagi theory to retirement planning! We have recently written an article that has been picked up by one of the nations leading financial publications, Kiplinger magazine, and in the process of publishing that article! The article is called The Risk on Risk off Portfolio! Something we called the Mr. Miyagi portfolio because of the reference to wax on wax off. In this case, it is risk on risk off. We believe that every retirees income phase needs to have a portfolio that is built around this idea of somebody going with market volatility ups and downs, while we try our best to eliminate or mitigate downside. This is considered our risk on position and then we want some money that has absolutely no chance of downside, which is what we would consider a risk off position. In the show we go a little bit deeper in detail and as you can imagine we've titled the show what does Mr. Miyagi have to do with retirement planning? We hope you enjoy!
