Use Any Rally Towards 4,000 as an Opportunity (2/27/23)

(2/27/23) Our concern about market prices and sell signal triggers came to fruition during last week's sell off on a realization that higher interest rates are beginning to hit, and the Fed is planning further rate hikes. Futures for the Terminal Rate are now betting on a 5.4% ceiling, and the odds for a 50-bp rate increase are now set at 40% from zero last month. Markets are currently oversold, and the opportunity for a short-term rally are very good: Use any rally towards 4,000 as an opportunity to reduce portfolio risk and rebalance as needed. So long as sell signals remain intact, market upside will be limited. It is entirely possible that markets could just trade sideways at this point.
