Show Notes

(2/22/23) As predicted yesterday, markets rallied at the open, but faded into the close, ending the day right on the 50-DMA. Can markets open upwards again today, AND maintain the level? Lots of earnings reports posting up today, including NVIDIA, Domino's Pizza, and Dillard's, which will help create more market volatility. Upside for markets is limited so long as the current sell signal remains in place. Markets are likely to consolidate within the limited range that has been forming from previous tops and a rising trendline from October's bottom. A break below support will suggest a retest of those lows. Risk remains, too, with an aggressive Fed talking about higher interest rates, and another FOMC meeting scheduled for March. Certainly the Fed will raise rates again, but a "surprise" rate hike of 50-bp's would take the wind out of the markets' sails...and sales.
