Tamiya famously requires steel pinions when upgrading to a 540 GT Tuned Hop-Up Motor. However, in kits where it is included as the stock motor, such as the Super HotShot 4WD 1/10th scale R/C buggy, a steel pinion is not included, but an aluminum one. Why is this?
