Both Palou’s current team Chip Ganassi Racing and McLaren have laid claim to the Spaniard for 2023, with Ganassi announcing a contract extension this week shortly before McLaren and Palou countered suggesting he would be moving there at the end of the season.

Palou’s current Ganassi team-mate Marcus Ericsson wasn’t happy when he missed out on the rankings last season, but the points leader and Indy 500 winner is very much included this time as he joins the pod to talk about his year and the aftermath of his Brickyard win.
He says - perhaps in jest - that missing out on last year’s The Race IndyCar Podcast top 10 in the first half of the season provided the motivation to become the highest points scorer in the series since, and that he’ll have to find new motivation for the remainder of the season...
