Less than 24 hours after sealing his second IndyCar Series title, Will Power sat down with The Race IndyCar Podcast to discuss his phenomenal 2022 in an exclusive interview.
Co-hosts Jack Benyon and JR Hildebrand delve into a multitude of topics with a relaxed and talkative Power, including on his new mental approach for 2022 which he is keen to guard, but did open up on details of what makes it work.
He discusses where his 2022 title ranks compared to his earlier successes, and how he might have won many more championships in a series like F1 for example that weights qualifying more heavily in terms of results, off the back of breaking Mario Andretti’s all time pole record last weekend.
His desire to give his new crew chief and many of the crew who have been on his car for over 10 years a title having missed out on opportunities before also clearly means a lot to Power, which he discusses here.
Following the interview with Power, JR Hildebrand opens up on his own journey to alter his mental approach and explains how tough that is, especially for someone like Power who has already performed at an elite level throughout his career.
