Miami E-Prix: Evans dominates as Jaguar roar into life

Unseasonably cool and damp conditions in Miami tore the formbook apart at the first ever Hard Rock Stadium race. While many teams got the last minute set-ups wrong, including the crucial tyre-pressure optimisation, Jaguar roared back to the top step of the podium with a conclusive victory for Mitch Evans. After scoring zero points in the first two races of the season the ‘Big Cat’ roared back and had it not been for getting wiped-out by an over eager Felipe Drugovich it may well have been a 1-2.Host Andrew van de Burgt and reporter Sam Smith dissect a fascinating race, highlighting how several fancied runners, including total protagonists Oliver Rowland and Nick Cassidy got it so wrong. The inevitable ranty end to Dan Ticktum’s race is also picked over, as is the Miami event and how Formula E can grow it, and where another U.S race may fit in to its calendar next year. How Cassidy put Citroen on top in Mexico thriller

The first major international race of 2026 proved to be a thriller at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez as Nick Cassidy scored Citroen Racing’s first Formula E victory in only its second race. The Kiwi scored possibly his greatest E-Prix win from 13th on the grid after an audaciously clinical Attack Mode strategy was pulled against all the odds. Some brilliant overtaking was also built in to the drive which Cassidy pulled off superbly to head a close train of Edoardo Mortara, Oliver Rowland, Taylor Barnard and Jake Dennis over the finishing line.Andrew van de Burgt and Sam Smith pull away the layers of strategic intrigue armed with The Stat Pack powered by Infosys, and also discuss other great performances including Sebastien Buemi’s mighty pole position lap and Taylor Barnard’s ohh so close perfect lap for DS Penske. The ever-controversial Dan Ticktum didn’t disappoint in the ranting stakes with a blistering opinion of what he deemed to be the stewards’ shortcomings, and his teammate Pepe Marti’s astonishing run from last on the grid to seventh place is also analysed. Da Costa doubles up in Portland - can he now win the title?

The 2024 ABB FIA Formula E world championship title fight was blown wide open at the expansive Portland International Raceway as Antonio Felix da Costa scored a remarkable double for Porsche. After scoring zero points in the first three races and having even his position in the Porsche team questioned, da Costa is now an outside bet to become a double Formula E champion in the most unlikely of scenarios. But realistically it’s a scrap between Jaguar teammates Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy, as well as da Costa’s teammate Pascal Wehrlein. Shanghai EPrix: The title fight narrows

Sam Smith and Andrew van de Burgt are joined by motorsport writer and The Race contributor, Alice Holloway, as the business end of the 2024 Formula E season arrives, with talk of the title fight now being a straight scrap between Jaguar’s Nick Cassidy and Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein. But neither of them took the wins as the all-electric world championship returned to mainland China for the first time since 2015. It was their respective teammates Mitch Evans and Antonio Felix da Costa that triumphed after well-judged victories in more high-energy target races. The future of da Costa and his at times fraught relationship with Porsche is discussed, as is the likelihood of Jake Dennis now not being able to defend his title and Nissan’s Oliver Rowland also losing ground to his rivals. The trials and tribulations of Envision Racing are analysed, as is the future of Stoffel Vandoorne and the likelihood of Silverstone becoming the future home of a UK Formula E round. To join The Race Members' Club, click here to sign up, or you can sign up for all of The Race's bonus audio content (but not the other perks of membership) directly in the Apple Podcasts app.Follow The Race on Instagram, Twitter and FacebookCheck out our latest videos on YouTubeDownload our app on iOS or Android Hosted on Acast. Misano EPrix review with Max Guenther

A typically action-packed Formula E weekend at the energy-bonkers Misano circuit in Italy is debated in this episode with special guest Maserati MSG’s Maximilian Guenther.Oliver Rowland and Pascal Wehrlein were the victors but the biggest story of the weekend was Antonio Felix da Costa’s bizarre and petty disqualification and the furious exchanges between Porsche and the FIAThat is forensically analysed, as is the why Oliver Rowland ran out of energy while starting the last lap handing Wehrlein the win and the championship points lead.Gunther details his races which involved a strong run to third on Saturday, a dust up with Mitch Evans, getting airborne via kerbs and then seeing another points finish on Sunday being taken away for an incident with Jean-Eric Vergne.Hosts Andrew Van de Burgt and Sam Smith also take a wry-eye look at various other flashpoints, decipher the latest paddock news and indulge, for no particular reason at all, in reminiscing randomly about 1980s boxers and the long-forgotten Cagliari F3000 street race.Join The Race Members Club.
