Show Notes

On Friday the United Nations general assembly overwhelmingly called for an "immediate, durable and sustainable humanitarian truce" between Israel and Hamas.

The motion, drafted by Jordan, had 120 nations voting in favour, 14, including the US and Israel voting no and 45 countries, including Australia, the UK and Canada abstaining from voting at all.

Why would our representatives not support a stop to the fighting to allow Gaza to receive medical aid, food and water?

In this episode of The Quicky, we take a look at why Australia chose to step away, when 120 countries voted in favour of a truce, and why they believe the resolution was incomplete.
