Show Notes
Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Puerto Rico Weather Podcast — it's Wednesday, February 25th.
Step outside and you'll feel those trade winds already kicking in. We're at 73 degrees under clear skies, but that easterly breeze is about to bring company.
Metro San Juan gets scattered showers rolling through from 9 A.M. to 11 P.M. Peak chance hits around 9 A.M. this morning, then they taper off. You'll climb from 75 degrees at 7 A.M. to 81 degrees by noon. East winds steady at 10 to 20 miles an hour, gusting to 20 around midday. Tonight holds at 75 degrees with lingering showers. Thursday brings another high of 81 with scattered rain.
Head south and the heat cranks up. Southern Puerto Rico hits 88 degrees around 1 P.M. — that's serious warmth. Showers develop 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. with a 30 percent chance. Winds gust to 18 miles an hour around 1 P.M. Tonight cools to 72 degrees. Thursday looks drier with just isolated showers.
Over in western Puerto Rico, thunderstorms are the story. They fire up noon to 8 P.M., peaking at 60 percent around noon. High of 85 degrees around 1 P.M., then cooling to 69 degrees by 4 A.M. Steady east winds around 7 miles an hour.
Now the serious part.. High Surf Advisory and Rip Current Statement through Friday. Breaking waves reach 10 feet or higher along north-facing beaches. Ocean Park, Piñones, Luquillo, Aguadilla — dangerous conditions. Stay out of the water.
The week ahead keeps those breezy trade winds rolling. Highs hold low to mid 80s through the weekend. Monday brings more widespread showers with a 50 percent chance. We're gaining over a minute of daylight each day — spring equinox just three weeks out.
If you're hitting the beaches this week, skip the north shore. Those waves aren't playing around.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
