HOUR 1 - Murray reportedly meeting virtually w. a few teams, Calls, Ray Fittipaldo

Kyler Murray is in Minnesota today meeting with the Vikings, but before that, Murray met virtually with ‘multiple QB-needy’ teams, including the Steelers. Steelers reporters are quickly putting the kibosh on the team signing Murray even if it’s for the veteran minimum. Why are people so disgusted with the thought of Murray playing QB for the Steelers? Is Murray an option for more than 2026? The guys couldn’t remember if there was this much backlash when the Steelers showed interest in Russell Wilson. A former Steelers QB3 just signed a deal worth $4M and Murray can be had for $1.3M. Are Steelers fans still strongly against Kyler Murray being the team’s QB? Cardinals fan called in to tell us he’s happy to see Murray go. Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray doesn’t think the Steelers were all that close to making a move for Malik Willis. Ray is unaware of the Steelers virtually meeting with Kyler Murray before he went to meet in-person with Minnesota. Is Aaron Rodgers really the best out there after showing what he can and can’t do in his first season in Pittsburgh? Ray isn’t buying into Kirk Cousins being a real option. Ray thinks the Steelers could even give Rodgers a raise if he comes back in 2026. Michael Pittman Jr. was Ray’s choice of ‘best move’ made by the Steelers so far in the new league year. Ray isn’t ruling out a Calvin Austin return if he agrees to a deal for under $5M/year. Ray believes the next notable WR move is made in the draft. There was a report the other night that the Steelers signed Brock Hoffman to fill a void on the interior of the offensive line, but it was quickly scrubbed and there has been nothing since. Spencer Anderson is the leader in the clubhouse to be left guard, but Ray said there will be competition brought in via free agency or the draft. Ray will be at a dinner later with Mike Tomlin in attendance.

Jason Mackey checks in from Bradenton

Pirates insider Jason Mackey joined the show. Jason talked about Termarr Johnson being sent back to minor league camp and thinks he still is in good standing in the organization. Jason said Johnson is only 21 and will likely start in Triple A, so he’s not behind schedule. Jason believes the plan is for Nick Gonzales to play SS to begin the season, assuming Konnor Griffin isn’t here yet. What kind of options do the Pirates have to improve their defense? Jason disagrees with some of the others that cover the team and he feels like Griffin will begin the season at Triple A. Jason doesn’t have a ton of concerns with the Pirates outfield, including Oneil Cruz and Bryan Reynolds. Do the Pirates have any worry about Paul Skenes throwing a lot of pitches in the World Baseball Classic?

Pomp joins the show

KDKA TV’s Bob Pompeani joined the show. Three to five teams conducted a zoom call with Kyler Murray. Pomp hopes that the Steelers give him a look, especially for how cheap of an option he would be. Ter’marr Johnson has been sent back down to the minors. Pomp is discouraged by the fact that Johnson still has not cracked the big-league roster. Bob thinks that Miami (OH) should make the tournament because of their 31-0 regular season. Bob says that it would not surprise him if Jamie Dixon came back to Pitt.

HOUR 4 - Moves made official around the league, ALL ACCESS

What has happened in the last hour as the new league year is here in the NFL? The Bills got Bradley Chubb, the consolation prize for them losing out on Trey Hendrickson. The Ravens front office will speak in moments about their interesting start to the offseason. Javon Hargrave isn’t coming back to Pittsburgh – he’s headed to Green Bay. The Steelers made a few moves official, including the Cam Heyward extension and re-signing of Cole Holcomb. Are the Patrick Queen trade rumors slowing down? ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi believes the words of Eric DeCosta that the Ravens were fully preparing to have both Maxx Crosby and Trey Hendrickson as their edge rushers next season. Aditi dove into some of the medical concerns that allowed the Ravens to back out of the deal with the Raiders. She said it was always going to be contingent on what the Ravens’ doctors took away from the physical on Crosby. Aditi has it on good authority that the Ravens were ‘excited’ as of yesterday to bring Crosby in. Aditi told the guys the Ravens didn’t do anything fishy here and DeCosta would never be one to go the shady route. Aditi doesn’t think any team will be afraid to do a deal with the Ravens because of this. Aditi disagrees that the Ravens are ‘better off’ with how this worked out, even after keeping the pair of 1st round picks. Aditi said Hendrickson is not a game-wrecker the way Crosby is.

HOUR 2 - Ravens back out on Crosby deal, Calls, Mike Florio

The Ravens backed out of the Maxx Crosby trade, and then almost immediately signed Trey Hendrickson to a 4-year deal. Is this shady from the Ravens, or did Crosby actually fail his physical? Poni thinks that the Ravens would absolutely rather have Hendrickson and both first round picks than Crosby, and that they obviously weaseled out of the deal. Poni gets into it with a caller over the Ravens’ Maxx Crosby situation. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike says that the Ravens had every right to back out of the Maxx Crosby trade, and Poni is out of line. He also says that this kind of thing also happens from time to time, it has just never happened with a player the stature of Crosby. This was also the first time the Ravens had ever given up a first-round pick for a player. Crosby’s knee could also end up preventing another trade. Mike said that it feels below the Steelers to sit around and wait for Aaron Rodgers, who nobody else wants.

5 PM HOUR - Cousins as fallback, Chris McClain, Name Game

NFL insiders are reporting that the Steelers are ‘nosing around’ the QB market as the Aaron Rodgers saga rolls along. In that same conversation, those guys think Kirk Cousins is a real option for the Steelers if Rodgers decides to retire or play elsewhere. Cousins hardly feels like a consolation prize and the guys wondered what the organization would be thinking with a move like that. The fans are too wise to fall for this. It feels like it would be a failing grade from most of the fan base if it gets made. Carolina sports radio host Chris McClain from WFNZ joined the show. Chris said the Rico Dowdle experience with the Panthers was interesting. He brought up the mix of games that saw Dowdle shine and the others when Dowdle saw his carries go down. Chris said Dowdle runs hard and if he’s on a roll, he’s hard to stop. Chris said Rico got ‘a little salty’ near the end of the season by reposting some things on social media. He believes Dowdle will create a good 1-2 punch with Jaylen Warren. Chris said there were some miscommunication issues. Chris wanted to ask the guys about new Panthers backup QB Kenny Pickett before the call was over. Name Game.

4 PM HOUR - Queen trade rumors, Debrief

Following a riveting Pitt basketball win, Poni started by praising Mullsy for his Patrick Queen scoop yesterday. Now we are hearing more and more scuttlebutt about the Steelers trying to trade their big-money inside linebacker. BREAKING: The Steelers have signed Cameron Johnston, the punter that signed with the team a few years ago and got cut going into last season. Back to Queen – was he a Mike Tomlin guy? Mike McCarthy isn’t under the pressure to keep Queen around and the Steelers could free up some cap space to be used elsewhere. Has Queen ever been a good player without a player like Roquan Smith next to him? The guys want the potential draft compensation to be in 2027 and not 2026. HOUR 4 - Legal tampering recap, Who's left?

Poni labeled this as a ‘good’ day for the Steelers and they got better with their 2 acquisitions. The first move of the day was a trade for Michael Pittman that involved late-round picks, although we have yet to get that official compensation with the Colts. Their next was signing Jamel Dean, who had some very favorable metrics in his final of 7 seasons with the Buccaneers. If Aaron Rodgers goes somewhere else, is Kyler Murray the last remaining option for the Steelers? A great stretch of calls ended the segment. Who else is left 5+ hours into the NFL’s legal tampering period

HOUR 3 - Ongoing NFL moves, Steelers receive 4 comp picks, Debrief

What will be the Steelers next move? The current QB room is just Mason Rudolph and Will Howard. Are we all under the assumption that Aaron Rodgers is back in 2026? Malik Willis is going to Miami for 3 years and $67.5M in a move that broke a few hours ago. Did the Dolphins over pay or get a bargain? We also reacted to Minkah Fitzpatrick going to the Jets in a trade with the Dolphins that was only worth a 7th round pick. After Kenneth Gainwell went to the Bucs, could the Steelers be looking at a RB? Who is out there for the Steelers along the offensive line? Is Kenny Pickett going to find a home in this cycle? We now know the additional draft compensation each team will receive. The Steelers officially have 4 additional selections – 3-99, 4-135, 6-214, 6-216. Charlie Borges reminded us what he hates Jamel Dean, the Steelers newest member of the secondary. Donny Football Debrief – Tua Tagovailoa has found a new team and don’t worry, it’s not Pittsburgh.

HOUR 2 - Steelers' pair of moves, Jeff Rickard, Around the NFL

We continued reacting to the Steelers moves of the day, including trading for Michael Pittman and signing Jamel Dean. Will people start to come around on Aaron Rodgers coming back? Will people talk themselves into the Steelers being a Super Bowl contender by the time we reach the regular season? Colts analyst Jeff Rickard from 107.5 The Fan joined the show. Jeff gave his reaction to the Steelers and Colts making a trade involving Michael Pittman. Jeff said Pittman is great to move the chains and in the middle of the field on key downs. Jeff labeled Pittman as a ‘very attractive’ red zone option and loves his pairing with DK Metcalf in the Steelers offense. Jeff said Pittman is a ‘farmer/rancher’ when it comes to his attitude. He told the guys Pittman isn’t afraid to block down field and go up and battle for the football. He painted a very rosy picture about Pittman. Look around the NFL at the notable moves in the last hour or so.

HOUR 1 - Steelers acquire Pittman, Calls, Steelers sign Jamel Dean

NFL Free Agency is here as the legal tampering period began at noon today. The Steelers had a splash in the first hour – trading for Michael Pittman and extending him with a 3-year, $59M. There is no word yet on the trade details with the Colts other than Pittman being involved, but a ‘late-round pick swap’ has been reported. Did the Steelers make the right move? Omar Khan has finally found another WR after multiple years of being in a WR2 desert. How do fans feel about the Michael Pittman Jr. trade? BREAKING: The Steelers have signed Jamel Dean to a 3-year, $36M deal. The CB comes from the Buccaneers and was great last year, according to at least one metric source. Devin Bush also has a new home in Chicago.

HOUR 3 - Mark Kaboly

Steelers correspondent Mark Kaboly from the Pat McAfee Show joined the show. Where do the Steelers stand on Aaron Rodgers? Mark doesn’t think the team will set a deadline, but the anticipation is that it will happen soon. What would have to happen for the Steelers to let Mason Rudolph and Will Howard drive the car? Mark insisted that Rodgers is still the Plan A for 2026. Mark isn’t wiping a trade off the table that could happen over the weekend, like the DK Metcalf move from last year. More w/ Mark – Mark said Will Howard has the lovable personality which is a reason why he has so many fans without taking a snap as a rookie. Mark liked that Howard was present around the facility while he was on IR and thinks the players appreciate his attention to detail. The guys went through a list of pending UFAs and doesn’t think many, if any, come back in 2026. He said Isaac Seumalo walking out the door is a team decision. Mark said Rachaad White would be an interesting name to look for. Will the Steelers bring back any of their depth defensive linemen? More w/ Mark – The guys made Kaboom try KFC jelly beans. Mark discussed his love for the word ‘gimmick.’ Which outside free agents does Mark think will end up in Pittsburgh? Mark thinks a veteran guard will find his way to Pittsburgh and perhaps a former Browns OL. Mark said he wouldn’t rule out anything with Omar Khan.

HOUR 2 - Dud of a deadline, Trade Deadline recap, Debrief

Was the NHL Trade Deadline a dud? Not just for the Penguins, but the entire league was pretty quiet. NHL Network spent time breaking down the Penguins deal for a guy that has 3 points this season. The talking heads gave the Pens props for this move and said Kyle Dubas may have put together the best 4th line in the NHL. A recap of the 2026 NHL Trade Deadline. Did the Penguins do enough? Donny Football Debrief – If the Steelers get bad news on Broderick Jones, could they look into Taylor Decker as a 1-year stopgap? A massive LT visited the team today as part of the pre-draft process. Could they consider tackle in the 1st round again? Will we see an NFL player box Logan Paul?

HOUR 1 - NHL Trade Deadline 1 hour away, Pens acquire RW from DET, Nick Farabaugh

We are 1 hour away from the NHL Trade Deadline. The Penguins have yet to make a move. Will they? Is it a failure on the part of Kyle Dubas if they stand pat? Could a small move pay big dividends the way some of the others have for Dubas this season? We also reacted to the Evgeni Malkin play from last night that could end up in suspension and Sidney Crosby practicing today. Would you rather the Penguins make a splashy buy or a splashy sell? The guys are OK if a little deal is made. BREAKING: The Penguins have acquired Elmer Soderblom from the Red Wings for a 3rd round pick. Elmer is a massive human – 6’8, 252 pounds, but has just 3 points all season. Steelers insider Nick Farabaugh from Penn Live dot com joined the show for some Fair Game w/ Farabaugh. Nick doesn’t expect us to know the answer to the QB question on Monday, but maybe by the end of next week. Who is dictating terms here? Nick said the Steelers probably won’t offer Aaron Rodgers anything until he makes it clear that he wants to play. What will the contract look like for Malik Willis and is it too steep for the Steelers? Nick thinks Omar Khan and Mike McCarthy are in lockstep here and they want Rodgers back. Nick thinks the Steelers will add 2 WR in free agency and 2-3 in the draft. He expects them to make a signing ‘pretty early’ into free agency on Monday, but doesn’t expect it to be a ‘big’ name right away. Nick thinks the WR on the trade market are likely too rich for the Steelers to make a play on. Jalen Tolbert is a name Nick mentioned – citing his ties to McCarthy from Dallas. Nick doesn’t think the Steelers are going to be too aggressive in pursuit of Kenneth Walker, but expects them to be active in the secondary RB market.

Poni’s 5 Steelers free agent targets: Tyler Allgeier, Romeo Doubs, Wan’Dale Robinson, Greg Newsome and Andre Cisco. Pirates insider Jason Mackey joined the show. Jason reacted to Andrew McCutchen signing a minor league deal with the Rangers. He stands behind the Pirates making the right move by letting Cutch walk this time around. Jason isn’t sure how the Pirates ever cool these waters with Cutch and what it could look like if he balls out in Texas. Jason gets the feel that Konnor Griffin is bound for Triple A based on how the spring has gone so far. Jason doesn’t think Griffin will be upset by the move because it could be the right move for him right now. Who is Tyler Callihan and why did the Pirates let go of a reliever for him? Jason said Justin Lawrence opened some eyes this spring coming off an injury that cut short 2025. Total Request Thursday.

HOUR 3 - Could Steelers make play for Walker?, Contributor of the Year, Debrief

Poni has the feeling the Steelers are going to sign Kenneth Walker early in free agency. The Super Bowl MVP that was great for the Seahawks this season and in the playoffs. His projection is $9M/year. Is that too much for a RB in 2026? What does that mean for Jaylen Warren? This year there will be a ‘PM Team Contributor of the Year’ tournament to celebrate March Madness. Donny Football Debrief – Daniel Jeremiah has released a new Top 50. There is a new WR inside the top 20. We also revisited some good draft takes from year’s past.

HOUR 2 - Bills overpay for WR, Bob Pompeani, Power Rankings

The Bills made a move for DJ Moore today, sending a 2nd round pick to the Bears in the exchange. This just reset the trade market as AJ Brown could be the next guy on the move. Is Moore better than DK Metcalf? The price seems pretty cheap, in terms of trade capital, for the Bills, but maybe they are close enough with Josh Allen to get over the top. Did Omar Khan make the right move standing pat? KDKA TV’s Bob Pompeani joined the show. Bob said it’s tough to gauge if Aaron Rodgers will be back again. The guys made Bob grade potential QBs that could be the Week 1 starter in 2026. The guys asked what advice he would give Pat McAfee if he ever asked. Pomp said Bob Costas and Bryant Gumbel are 2 of the best interviewers in sports media history. Pomp said Romeo Doubs would be his choice for the first free agent for the Steelers to sign. Bob doesn’t think a pair of the pending free agents make it back to Pittsburgh. A few fun ones for Bob before we wrapped up. Power Rankings – 5 guys you want Steelers to re-sign.

HOUR 1 - Pens approach deadline, Geno's future, Ray Fittipaldo

We are 1 day away from the NHL Trade Deadline as the surprise Penguins are all of the sudden a buyer. But how big of one? Will the Pens go after someone as notable as Vincent Trocheck? We may see Kyle Dubas take it slow and not go overboard, even though the Pens need center help. Shane Wright was a name we broached – a center with the Kraken that is freshly 22-years-old and had 44 points last season. What should the Penguins do with Evgeni Malkin? The guys think it only makes sense to re-sign Geno after the season if he plays well and helps this team make it to the playoffs. Did Kyle Dubas already have another plan in his mind about Malkin before the Penguins season played out? Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray could foresee Aaron Rodgers giving the Steelers an answer off-the-record like he did last year as this thing could string out for another year. Ray admitted that some of Rodgers’ comments yesterday made the situation a little bit more ‘murky.’ Ray doesn’t expect this to be a question mark until June again this time around. Ray isn’t sure how likely it is that any of the outside free agents would come in and be the Steelers QB. Ray talked about the chances Will Howard and Mason Rudolph have to steer the ship. Ray reminded the guys that they will not give Howard the keys without having seen him in any game action. The guys noted that Jacoby Brissett, despite a 1-11 record last season, had numbers eerily similar to Rodgers in 2025. Ray thinks Kenneth Gainwell will explore his market in free agency after winning team MVP. Chris gave Ray some WR names to pick from and he chose Romeo Doubs, thinking he’d be around $15M/year player. How much would the Steelers have to offer Calvin Austin to get him back? Ray said the versatility of Jalen Ramsey allows the Steelers to explore multiple avenues when it comes to the defensive backfield this offseason. Which WR is the best in this draft? Ray is surprised there wasn’t more news around Carnell Tate running a 4.52 40-yard dash. Ray thinks WR is the first move the Steelers make on Monday, either via trade or free agency.
