HOUR 4 - Pirates win in Chicago, Dive into the numbers, Bucco Reaction
Pirates 2, Cubs 0 in the first of three at Wrigley Field this weekend. The Pirates got clutch pitching and a clean 9th inning from Dennis Santana. We tipped our cap to Carmen Mlodzinski, who pitched into the 6th inning after struggling in previous outings when he sees a lineup multiple times. Big credit went to the bullpen for closing the door. A deeper look into the numbers following the Pirates win at Wrigley to open the series against the Cubs. Another ugly day for Marcell Ozuna – how do his numbers early on stack up to guys like Tommy Pham and Rowdy Tellez at this point in the season? More Bucco Reaction following the win in Chicago.

HOUR 3 - Mark Kaboly
Steelers correspondent Mark Kaboly from The Pat McAfee Show joined the show. Mark now believes Aaron Rodgers will be back with the Steelers before we reach the draft in 13 days. That being said, Mark doesn’t see Rodgers going as far as announcing the Steelers draft pick on 4/23. If the Steelers select a QB, will that spell the end for his guy Mason Rudolph? Mark doesn’t think the Steelers were ever really interested in the Kirk Cousins idea. More w/ Mark – We joked with Mark about us meeting his nephew last week at the Pirates’ home opener. Mark said the chance of the Steelers trading TJ Watt is ‘zero, none.’ This discussion sparked into a debate over the edge rushers and what the future could look like for Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig. Out of others that are up for contract, who will and won’t get paid? We found out that Kaboom really likes Sebastian Joseph-Day, one of the sneaky Steelers free agent signings. More w/ Mark – Mark shared his take on Poni hoping the Penguins and Pirates throw him a bone. We tried getting to the bottom of the Pirates City Connect apparel being shared with the morning show, but nobody else at the station. Mark shared that he is a fan of Denzel Boston as we quickly approach the draft. If Vega Ioane is still available at 21, will the Steelers rush to the podium to draft the left guard? Mark was salivating at the idea of Gennings Dunker joining Mason McCormick and Zach Frazier on the interior of the Steelers offensive line.

HOUR 2 - Watt report is 'BS', Nick Farabaugh, Debrief
At least one Steelers insider reached out to Poni to say the Gerry Dulac report on TJ Watt being floated for a trade is ‘complete BS.’ Chris and Donny guessed Mark Kaboly, who tends to enjoy poo-pooing any big news. Another layer on this is Nick Herbig, who got interest from another team, but the call reportedly ‘went nowhere.’ Steelers insider Nick Farabaugh from Penn Live dot com joined the show for a little Fair Game w/ Farabaugh. Is TJ Watt getting traded and is his contract even tradable? Nick is worried about Nick Herbig being blocked from a starting role as somewhat coming up on a contract year. Nick told the guys why a safety will be considered in the 1st round because of the lack of depth at the position in this year’s class. The discussion went back to Herbig and if the Steelers would pay/tag him after this season. Nick believes the Steelers would bet a ‘significant haul’ if they traded Herbig right now. Nick doesn’t think TE will be considered in the 1st round, even if Kenyon Sadiq is still on the board, but it should be on the table in the middle rounds. Donny Football Debrief – We now know the 16 players that will be attending the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.

HOUR 1 - Pirates get ready for Cubs, Pens clinch playoff spot, Penguins dunking on Poni
A Pirates pregame to start the show as the Buccos begin a series against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. What are the takeaways from the lineup put out there by Donny Kelly? The Pirates have struggled mightily against Shota Imanaga in the past. Why are players already getting planned off days this early in the season? The Penguins are IN. The 5-2 win in New Jersey clinched a playoff spot for the first since the 2021-2022 season. The Pens proved A LOT of people wrong this season, which was one many expected the Penguins to be a lottery team. It sounds like Sidney Crosby had more motivation than usual to get this team into the postseason. Penguins social media decided to dunk on Poni a few times last night, even though they had many doubters. Joe Starkey was featured in the Penguins hype video after they qualified for the postseason. We think it is kind of a flex for Poni that the Penguins social team keeps picking on him despite 99.9% of the city expecting the team to be bad.

Pirates beat Cubs at Wrigley
Pirates 2, Cubs 0 in the first of three at Wrigley Field this weekend. The Pirates got clutch pitching and a clean 9th inning from Dennis Santana. We tipped our cap to Carmen Mlodzinski, who pitched into the 6th inning after struggling in previous outings when he sees a lineup multiple times. Big credit went to the bullpen for closing the door.

Fair Game w. Farabaugh
Steelers insider Nick Farabaugh from Penn Live dot com joined the show for a little Fair Game w/ Farabaugh. Is TJ Watt getting traded and is his contract even tradable? Nick is worried about Nick Herbig being blocked from a starting role as somewhat coming up on a contract year. Nick told the guys why a safety will be considered in the 1st round because of the lack of depth at the position in this year’s class. Nick doesn’t think TE will be considered in the 1st round, even if Kenyon Sadiq is still on the board, but it should be on the table in the middle rounds.

Watt rumor is 'complete BS'
At least one Steelers insider reached out to Poni to say the Gerry Dulac report on TJ Watt being floated for a trade is ‘complete BS.’ Chris and Donny guessed Mark Kaboly, who tends to enjoy poo-pooing any big news. Another layer on this is Nick Herbig, who got interest from another team, but the call reportedly ‘went nowhere.’

Penguins clinch playoff berth
The Penguins are IN. The 5-2 win in New Jersey clinched a playoff spot for the first since the 2021-2022 season. Buccos get set for series at Wrigley

HOUR 4 - Lemon coming to PGH, Ray Fittipaldo, TRT
The Steelers are meeting with Makai Lemon, who finds himself in the top tier of WR entering the 2026 NFL Draft. He is joined by Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson in that group. If Lemon is not going to get out of the Top 15, should the Steelers trade up? Is there anyone worth making the ‘Devin Bush’ trade for? Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. The guys asked Ray about the visitors to the Steelers in the pre-draft process, including Makai Lemon. Ray thinks there will be plenty of starting talent found on the second day of the draft. Ray speculated how the Steelers may have their WR board configured. What did the Packers WR corps look like in the Mike McCarthy heyday in Green Bay and how could the Steelers turn theirs into that? Ray shared why the Steelers may consider taking a safety in the 1st round. Ray doesn’t think the Steelers would receive a 1st round pick in exchange for TJ Watt at this point, but thinks the team’s ask would be way too high for him in a trade. Ray had an interesting name, two weeks out, that the Steelers could call at 21st overall. Total Request Thursday.

HOUR 3 - Insider floats trading Watt, Calls, Debrief
A very interesting nugget shared by Gerry Dulac in his chat today – the idea of trading TJ Watt or Alex Highsmith. Right now, Nick Herbig is blocked from becoming a starter, but is due for a new deal after this upcoming season. Are they too late trying to move on from Watt? What type of return could they be looking at right now? Are fans OK with the Steelers trading TJ Watt at this point? Donny Football Debrief – The justice department is coming after the NFL with an anticompetitive case facing the consumer.

HOUR 2 - MAC star visiting Steelers, Bob Pompeani, Power Rankings
The Steelers are courting the top prospect out of the MAC as Emmanuel McNeil-Warren is set to visit. The 6’3 safety was a star on the Toledo defense. He committed just one penalty in his college career. Would this be a bad move by the Steelers at 21? KDKA TV’s Bob Pompeani joined the show. Pomp is revved up for The Masters, which is underway at Augusta. How are his picks looking? Why is Patrick Reed so hated? Bob shared his ideal ‘Masters meal’ so the guys could critique it. Should the Steelers consider safety in the 1st round? Bob talked about draft coverage over the years with the selection meeting coming to town in 2 weeks. Where does the job by Dan Muse rank among coaching jobs in major PGH sports in the last decade? Power Rankings – WPIAL draft picks by value.

HOUR 1 - Pens on brink of playoff berth, Muse & his goalies, Jason Mackey
The Penguins have a chance, in 3 different ways, to make the playoffs tonight for the first time since the 2021-2022 season. A win gets it done the easy way, but they can also get in with 1 point or no points in the event of losses around the eastern conference. What a job by Dan Muse. Where does it rank among best coaching jobs in the last 10 years of Pittsburgh sports? The back-to-back Cup runs by Mike Sullivan probably take the cake. Mike Tomlin has had a few good ones, too. But Muse has turned things around faster than we ever anticipated. A season in which the Penguins did not have Sidney Crosby for 70 games or Evgeni Malkin for 60 games is on the doorstep of a playoff berth. Poni doesn’t like how Dan Muse is handling the current goaltending situation. Who should get the nod in the playoffs? A funny lookalike conversation. Pirates insider Jason Mackey joined the show. Jason thinks the reality for Paul Skenes is that he is headed to a major market within the next 5 years, but that doesn’t mean there is zero attempt to keep him around. Will we see a revamped MLB system that could benefit the Pirates? Jason gave his take to an online battle regarding the Pirates signing of Konnor Griffin as a common practice. Did one side cave more in the Griffin negotiations? The guys didn’t like the pulling of Mitch Keller after 75 pitches, followed by the bullpen immediately giving up runs. Jason told us about Keller doing Pilates in the offseason that may have an impact on what he’s doing so far. Was Keller OK with being done after 6 innings yesterday? Jason broke down the season of Oneil Cruz so far, which has seen lowlights in the outfield, but highlights at the plate.

Ray Fittipaldo's feel 2 weeks out from the NFL Draft
Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. The guys asked Ray about the visitors to the Steelers in the pre-draft process, including Makai Lemon. Ray thinks there will be plenty of starting talent found on the second day of the draft. Ray speculated how the Steelers may have their WR board configured. Jason Mackey recaps big week in Pirates baseball
HOUR 4 - Nutting's approval rating, Jeff Hathhorn, Judge Donny
It was such a notable day in Pirates history, there were fans asking Bob Nutting for his autograph. Who would have expected that? His approval rating may never be higher than it is right now. The Pirates had an aggressive approach this offseason, but have they completely flipped some of their biggest haters? 93.7 The Fan Sports Director Jeff Hathhorn joined the show. Some folks found a way to take the comments from Paul Skenes in a negative light after the ace said Konnor Griffin will be the ‘face’ of the franchise for years to come. Jeff doesn’t think that was a move by Skenes to indicate he won’t be around long. Why did Griffin get the day off, until he entered it as a pinch-hitter late? Jeff was stunned to see Bob Nutting signing autographs before the finale at PNC Park today. Judge Donny – Should Paul Skenes sign a 4-year, $140M deal, if offered by the Pirates?

HOUR 3 - Griffin signs extension, Calls, Miller gets final out
It was still a banner day to be a Pirates fan as Konnor Griffin signed his 9-year extension with the club that will keep him here until 2034. Is this current group capable of winning something big? The Pirates have Griffin for nearly a decade and have Paul Skenes under control for a few more years. Are we still finding fans that can’t help but be negative about this? How do fans feel about the future of Pirates baseball? What word or two would you use to describe your feelings on the Pirates after the Konnor Griffin extension Pittsburgh native, Bethel Park grad and Waynesburg product Mason Miller got the final out today at PNC Park.

HOUR 2 - Mike Florio, Bucco Reaction, Calls
Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. The tabloid story of the day was surrounding Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini from The Athletic. Mike couldn’t too much about the situation himself, but said as much as he could. 15 days away from the NFL Draft and the Steelers have no indication on what is happening with Aaron Rodgers, which feels a whole lot like last year. How much attention does Rodgers want before he makes his decision? Mike isn’t sure if he will be in town for the draft, which he hasn’t attended in about a decade because his duties that night are easier to perform from home. It’s a final at PNC Park as the Padres take the series over the Pirates in an 8-2 game. Mitch Keller looked good again – his third consecutive quality start to open the season, allowing 0 runs in 6 innings on 75 pitches. The bullpen was a disaster. Is the idea that Don Kelly wants to save Keller for later in the season? Poni doesn’t think Keller is the guy that needs to be coming out of games early if he’s rolling. Mitch Keller was pulled after 75 pitches while rolling through 6 innings of work. He was shutting out San Diego when he was taken out before the bullpen, starting with Justin Lawrence, came in to get beat up. There was also a discussion over Konnor Griffin sitting on the same day he signed his record-breaking deal with the Pirates. We got an explanation as to why Keller was taken out at 75 pitches.

HOUR 1 - Pens-Flyers close to reality, ALL ACCESS, Tyler Kennedy
2 points away from a playoff spot are the Penguins as they travel to New Jersey for a 7 pm puck drop tomorrow night. It is looking more and more likely that the Penguins are going to meet the Flyers in the first round. Poni is afraid of that matchup – Chris is all for it. Poni wants to see a matchup with Columbus to start things out because he doesn’t feel like the Penguins can beat the Flyers right now. Chris puts a win in the series around 70%. ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi said she is ‘at a loss for words’ in regards to the deal not being done between the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers. She doesn’t understand a team being at the mercy of someone else’s timeline, especially when that person is a 40+ year-old QB. Aditi doesn’t think the Mike McCarthy hire was built on the fact that it would lead to a likely Rodgers return, but more about his acumen with quarterbacks. Aditi reiterated what she heard from members in the Steelers facility after the season regarding the ‘miniscule’ chance of Rodgers coming back. She noted that his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show changed her mind to a degree, since he has said again and again that he will disappear once he’s done. Aditi said no matter how the Steelers spin it, when you rely on a 42-year-old quarterback, it’s about this year, and this year only. Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy joined the show. TK thinks Sergey Murashov should be the man in net in a game or two of these final three. The Penguins are traveling all 3 goaltenders to New Jersey for the game tomorrow night. Tyler said it’s not an exact science, but we have seen teams call up young goalies late in the season that have paid off in the playoffs. How much can you trust Stuart Skinner in a postseason run? Which teams are favorable matchups for the Penguins in the first round? TK is afraid of seeing the Flyers in the playoffs because of how they have played down the stretch. Is Elmer Soderblom coming out of the lineup despite 3 goals in his last 5 games?

Hawk Report w. Jeff Hathhorn
93.7 The Fan Sports Director Jeff Hathhorn joined the show. HOUR 3 - Reynolds' blunder leads to Pirates loss, Ryan Wilson, Debrief
Bryan Reynolds made a gaffe last night that led to some runs for the Padres in a 5-0 Pirates loss. Reynolds is back out in LF tonight with Paul Skenes on the mound. Skenes’ Cy Young odds have already taken a dip due to the Opening Day disaster. Why are plays like the ones from Reynolds last night and the Oneil Cruz mishaps on Opening Day not ruled as errors? They didn’t get their glove on the ball, but it’s a judgement call that took ordinary effort to make the plays. We knew the Pirates wouldn’t be good defensively, but we are seeing it first-hand in the first week+ of the season. NFL Draft analyst Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports joined the show. Ryan explained why Denzel Boston may be a WR that falls out of the 1st round. How much does the 40-yard dash time matter for players that put up big production? Darrell Jackson Jr., who is not related to the former Seahawks WR, spent time between the 0-technique and 3-technique last season, so it makes sense for the Steelers to have eyes on him at some point. Why did one of the mock drafts have the Steelers taking an edge rusher in the 1st round? Ryan said the Steelers should select Vega Ioane at 21 if he is available and they shouldn’t think twice about it. He also perused some of the tackles that could fall to the back half of the opening round. Ryan said the medical report on Jordyn Tyson will tell the story of his draft stock because he’s a Top 10 talent that could be left waiting on draft night. Donny Football Debrief – A questionable mock draft from Peter Schrager. And a wild comp for a Pitt LB entering the draft.

HOUR 2 - Steelers begin workouts w.o Rodgers, Calls, CBB Minute
Roughly 1/3 of the league changed coaches in the NFL this offseason, including the Steelers. This means they were allowed to begin voluntary workouts this week. We saw social media footage of every guy that showed up. That included players like Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson around the league. Aaron Rodgers isn’t signed by the Steelers, so he didn’t show up. Is this the same story as last year or is it a little different? Do we blame the Steelers here? Poni listened to what was said about Rodgers on The Pat McAfee Show earlier today and felt like the tone was angry toward Steelers fans. How do people feel about this? Are fans annoyed that teams are getting to work and the Steelers are waiting on Aaron Rodgers? CBB Minute – Michigan won their second national championship in school history last night, defeating UConn in the title game, 69-63. And we have a snafu with the PM Team March Madness pool.

HOUR 1 - Pens call up Murashov, Calls, Sports Court
The Penguins are 2 points away from clinching a playoff berth for the first time since 2022. They also made some news today by calling up Sergey Murashov. Is he going to get sent right back down or should he get a chance to be this team’s goaltender in the playoffs? Arturs Silovs and Stuart Skinner have been limping to the finish line, with Skinner coming off injury. Is this the same debate we had 10 years ago when Matt Murray was too good to deny for the Penguins in their quest for a Stanley Cup. Poni is worried that this dream, out-of-nowhere season is going to be spoiled by bad goaltending in the postseason. Is it fair to criticize the Penguins if they screw this up and it ruins their season? Is Sergey Murashov being considered as anything more than an ‘in-case of emergency’ option? Sports Court w/ our friends from Edgar Snyder & Associates. Is it a big deal that Fernando Mendoza is not attending the NFL Draft? Is Konnor Griffin OK despite his slow start? Did the Pirates make a mistake choosing Marcell Ozuna over Andrew McCutchen? Is The Masters the best sporting event in the month of April? Who is worse in the outfield – Bryan Reynolds or Oneil Cruz?

What's happening w. Griffin contract?
Ben Cherington spoke to the media today. He was waffling on some questions about the Konnor Griffin contract and how close/far away the team and player are in talks. It appears that Buster Olney jumped the shark on the deal being done. So, what is the story here?

Ryan Wilson brings updated draft thoughts
NFL Draft analyst Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports joined the show. Ryan explained why Denzel Boston may be a WR that falls out of the 1st round. How much does the 40-yard dash time matter for players that put up big production? Darrell Jackson Jr., who is not related to the former Seahawks WR, spent time between the 0-technique and 3-technique last season, so it makes sense for the Steelers to have eyes on him at some point. HOUR 3 - Beck & Steelers interest, Calls, Debrief
We are less than 2.5 weeks away from the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh. Are the Steelers actually interested in Ty Simpson, or is that just a smokescreen? Would it make more sense for the Steelers to use a mid-round pick on Carson Beck? Beck has struggled when he hasn’t had clean pockets in the past. Poni thinks that it is a bad sign that Beck turns the ball over at a higher rate than most other prospects. Charlie Batch doubled down on his statement that there is a contract dispute between Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. More callers chime in on Drew Allar and the Steelers. Donny Football Debrief – Joey Porter Jr said that people harp on his game a lot because of the penalties, but he hasn’t given up a touchdown in 3 years. He also called himself a top 5 corner in football.
