As doctors the mantra, 'the patient comes first,' is a belief instilled in all of us to make sure the patient is given the best care. Unfortunately, this mentality keeps hospitals from taking care of another important group of people: physicians. I'm here to tell you that this way of thinking is backward and if we take care of doctors first, then everyone benefits.
