Show Notes

Patrick Williams was a musician, composer, producer, conductor, arranger, big-band jazz leader and music educator. Born April 23, 1939, he sadly passed away Wednesday morning (July 25, 2018). Prolific is a word defined by Webster’s as producing abundantly. When it came to Patrick Williams, the word suited him. He composed the music for over 65 feature films, 100 television films, 25 television series, and on top of that his 19 albums and 30 concert works.

Patrick Williams was recognized for his work in jazz and popular music. “Duets” and “Duets II,” the last two albums of Frank Sinatra were arranged and conducted by Williams. He worked with everyone from Andrea Bocelli, Paul Anka, Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, Gloria Estefan, and Barry Manilow just to name a few.

In this interview recorded in 2016, the affable Williams shared the story of his prolific career. This podcast episode is being presented in honor of his memory. You're invited to listen.
