Show Notes
Kids in Irish schools are more bilingual than ever before with Polish, Romanian, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Afrikans and Zula being heard in the classroom. Some children are translating for their parents and picking up English within a year. Studies show switching between two or more languages improves our attention, planning, memory and problem solving skills. Henry McKean visited St Laurence O'Toole's in Dublin 1 where more than 10 languages are spoken.
