Each nightfall, billions of tiny marine creatures migrate to the ocean's surface, feasting on algae and leaving carbon-laden waste that drifts to the ocean floor. This ritual is just one example of nature’s ability to pull carbon out of the atmosphere, a critical process that helps stabilize Earth’s climate.
