Show Notes

Good evening. Oregon. I'm Michael Mosby. Happy Saturday, folks. We're finally drying out after a solid soaking. The Willamette Valley picked up over an inch of rain in the last 24 hours. But the tap is turning off today as high pressure builds in. That means clearer skies are taking over, but here's the catch. While we dry out, the mountains aren't done yet. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Northern Blue Mountains until 8 P.M. This evening. Expect another 1 to 4 inches of snow above 4,000 feet, pass travel might be tricky if you're heading that way. Temperature-wise. Down in the Valley. Portland hits 53 degrees today, rain chances return after 11 A.M. Sunday. It stays mild though, we warm into the mid 60s by Monday. That's about 27 degrees above normal for this time of year. Central Oregon stays mostly dry, redmond climbs to 56 today under mostly cloudy skies. By Monday, you hit 69 degrees, that's perfect weather for a hike if you ask me. Looking ahead. Looking at the week ahead, an atmospheric river rides to our north, while we stay on the southern edge. That means chances for rain increase midweek, highs stay in the 60s. Nights stay mild in the 40s. One final note on the rivers. The Umatilla River near Gibbon is under a Flood Warning until tomorrow morning. If you live near low-lying areas, keep an eye on water levels, we'll be back with your next forecast evening. See you tomorrow.
