S1 Ep 274274: Cup finals aplenty across Europe, Barça's shock defeat and Team GB

The OneFootball podcast returns once again to take a look at women’s football across Europe. This week Angelina Kelly is joined by Alejandro Diago and Give Me Sport Women's Nancy Gillen. First up and over in the Division 1 Féminine, the destination of the domestic trophy seems to be Paris as PSG held Lyon to a 0-0 draw over the weekend. This means that PSG still sit at the top of the table, with one point between them and Sonia Bompastor's team. All Lyon can do now is win their final game of the season this weekend and hope that PSG drop points! Then over in Spain, Barcelona's winning streak in the league came to a standstill as they were defeated 4-3 to Atlético Madrid! However, despite their blip in the league the team still had a lot to celebrate as over the weekend they achieved the treble as a 4-2 victory over Levante meant that they won their eighth Copa de la Reina title. Over in Italy is was the Coppa Italia final which saw a tense game between Roma and AC Milan head to penalties, where Roma goalkeeper Camelia Ceasar ensured that her side won the shootout 3-1, as they lifted the club's first piece of silverware. Next in Germany there was another cup final as Wolfsburg faced Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB Pokal final! It was another tense game as the fixture went to extra time and almost penalties had it not been for Wolfsburg who despite being down to 10 players managed to lift the trophy for the seventh consecutive time. And finally this week’s hot topic is all about Team GB! Now that Hege Riise has announced her 18-strong squad that will be heading to Tokyo the panel discuss their opinions on the squad, who sadly missed out on a spot and which players perhaps should not have made it into Riise's squad ahead of an exciting tournament this summer.

First up and the panel discuss what was an enthralling Champions League final where Barcelona were victorious over Chelsea with a 4-0 victory. It was a brilliant night for a ruthless, powerful Barcelona side and for Chelsea, despite the defeat, they were still able to appreciate what a momentous moment in the club's history. Next with the fifth round of the FA Cup, Arsenal and Manchester City both had important wins in the competition, meanwhile Manchester United crashed out against Leicester City in what was Casey Stoney's final game in charge. Then over to the Scottish Women's Premier League where things are still tense at the top with Glasgow City, Rangers and Celtic all battling it out for the two Champions League spots up for grabs as well at the title. With another Old Firm Derby on the horizon the panel give their opinions on the game, and which players have been impressing in the league. And finally for this week's hot topic Angelina spoke to Crystal Palace footballer Amber Stobbs about her life and career. After battling with her mental health, as well as celebrating great success with clubs such as Everton and Reading, Amber decided to take a break from football and played what she thought would be her final game with Charlton Athletic at 26 years-old. However, after some time away from the sport and after giving herself time to reflect on her experiences, Amber made the amazing decision to return to the sport. After a successful season with Crystal Palace, Amber discusses her return, her journey so far, her mental health battles and hopes for the future in a very open and honest discussion.
