The One Piece Podcast

On this episode of The One Piece Podcast we bring together two sides of a debate that has hit the heart of manga fans and enthusiasts for nearly a decade in a civil and informative discussion. For those who don’t know us, we’re The One Piece Podcast, and each week we break down the latest manga chapter and episode from Japan. We’ve also delved into the nuances of One Piece, announced new episodes for the United States, and reported live from One Piece events in Japan. This episode we have Molokidan, the translator from Mangastream’s now-defunct One Piece translations. He has been a translator for scanlators as far back as 2005, and has also worked professionally in manga and other translation projects through today. We also have Stephen, the freelance translator for One Piece on VIZ Media’s Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha. Stephen has been one of the most well-regarded translators for One Piece, garnering high acclaim from fans around the community. It was a huge pleasure speaking with both, and we hope to do this again in the near future. On today’s episode of the Unofficial One Piece Podcast, we have Ed, Jason, Jammer, Dominic, Ichnob, and Kate on to discuss the One Piece goodness for the week. To say that episode 165 is a busy one would be an understatement. Despite Zach’s absence, we cover an amazing amount of informative and entertaining material. First, Jason reports us the latest news in the One Piece world. We dive into the latest volume release in Japan (volume 62). Then Jason walks us through his experiences at Anime Boston last weekend, and what it was like hosting two panels all by his lonesome.
