Show Notes

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Oklahoma Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 17th. Folks, winter's got one more card to play this weekend. Step outside right now and you'll feel it. The whole state is locked in the low 30s. Not dramatic cold. Just that stubborn, gray, "where did I put my gloves" kind of morning. Here's the deal. Central Oklahoma is sitting at 33 degrees with north winds around 9 miles an hour. You'll top out near 35 today. That's it. Barely moves the needle. Tonight drops into the mid 20s, so if you're heading to dinner, bundle up. Drive northeast toward Tulsa and you're a hair warmer at 35 degrees. Don't get excited though. Northeast winds at 10 miles an hour steal that right back. Highs stay mid 30s. Lows tonight settle into the upper 20s. Now the cold spot. Southwest Oklahoma woke up at 32 degrees. North winds at 8 miles an hour. Highs struggle to reach 34. That's the kind of day where your truck takes an extra few seconds to turn over. One bright spot? We gained almost three minutes of daylight today. Sunrise hit at 6:32, sunset stretches to 5:20. Spring is sneaking closer whether winter likes it or not. Air quality sits moderate today. If you're sensitive, maybe keep that jog short. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Sunday starts the thaw. Temperatures climb into the 40s by midweek. No big storms lurking, but there's a slight chance of drizzle sneaking in around Wednesday. The real story is that warming trend. We're turning a corner. Alright. If this forecast helped you plan your Saturday, share it with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps us going. Stay warm out there, folks. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
