Good morning, folks! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Ohio Weather Podcast. It's Friday, February 23rd, and winter isn't done with us yet.
Here's the deal. That wind is the villain today. Step outside and you'll feel it immediately. Northeast Ohio gets the worst of it. Gusts up to 23 miles an hour pushing highs to only 33 degrees. There's a slight chance of flurries up there, but nothing that'll stick. It's more of a taunt than a threat.
Now head southwest and things calm down. Winds barely crack 10 miles an hour. Highs reach 31 degrees. Almost peaceful by comparison. Central Ohio splits the difference. You're looking at 30 degrees with winds between 6 and 16 miles an hour. Not brutal, but enough to make your morning coffee feel urgent.
Tonight, clear skies settle in statewide. Lows drop to the mid 20s in Columbus and Dayton. Northeast Ohio holds a touch warmer in the upper 20s. Your car windshield will need scraping tomorrow morning. Count on it.
Quick note on air quality. It's moderate today, so if you've got sensitive lungs, maybe keep the jog short.
Here's something to smile about. Sunrise hit at 6:33 this morning, sunset at 5:18. We're gaining almost three minutes of daylight every single day now. Spring is sneaking closer like a kid raiding the cookie jar.
Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Saturday brings sunshine and upper 30s. Sunday stays dry but dips back a touch. Early next week looks quiet with temperatures hovering in the mid 30s. No major storms on the radar through Wednesday. Honestly, it's the kind of stretch where Ohio behaves itself for once.
Alright. If you're enjoying these daily updates, share us with a friend who's always checking the weather app. We're better than that app. Promise.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Stay safe out there!
