Show Notes

Good afternoon. Ohio. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside right now and you'll feel that crisp 30 degrees. Overcast. Quiet. Almost peaceful. but don't let it fool you. This calm is setting the table for one wild week. In the next 24 hours. High pressure is sliding in behind a cold front that swept through overnight. That northerly flow off the Great Lakes is keeping things chilly, but it's also pushing clouds out. so enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. Northeast Ohio draws the short straw today. You're only hitting 30 degrees. and that north wind at 10 miles an hour makes it feel like the low 20s. Tonight drops to 21. The kind of cold that makes your steering wheel sting. Drive south on 71 toward Columbus and the thermometer wakes up. Central Ohio climbs to 41 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Tonight settles near 25 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Not bad for March 1st. Southwest Ohio gets the warmest air. Cincinnati touches 47 degrees this afternoon. but you're also first in line for what's coming. Snow sneaks in after 3 A.M. and Monday morning's commute could get slippery. One to two inches possible, maybe some sleet or freezing rain mixed in. Give yourself extra time. The real plot twist starts Tuesday. A warm front surges north, pulling Gulf moisture straight up the Ohio Valley. Temperatures rocket from the 50s Tuesday to near 75 degrees by Friday. That's a 45 degrees swing from where Northeast Ohio sits right now. Multiple rounds of rain roll in midweek, with flooding concerns and possible thunderstorms Wednesday night into Friday. Spring equinox is 19 days out, but Friday might beat it to the punch. Folks, charge your devices and check those wiper blades. It's going to be a busy week. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
