Good evening. Ohio. I'm Aaron Jolly.
Sixty one degrees and clear skies right now. Soak that in. Because a cold front is carving through the state as we speak. and it's dragging winter back with it.
In the next 24 hours. Here's the story. That front sweeps south tonight, pulling cold Canadian air right behind it. A weak disturbance rides along the boundary, squeezing out light snow across northern Ohio after dark. Northeast Ohio catches the most. Snow picks up around 6 P.M. and peaks near 1 A.M. We're talking a coating to maybe an inch. Roads should stay mostly wet thanks to today's warm ground.
Now the temperature whiplash. Southwest Ohio hit 62 degrees this afternoon. Columbus reached 56. but up in Cleveland and Akron? Topped out around 46 and already falling fast through the 30s tonight. By morning, lows crash to 24 degrees in the northeast, 29 degrees in central Ohio, 34 degrees down southwest. Wind chills tomorrow morning feel like 19 degrees in the northeast. 20 degrees around Columbus. That's a 40 degrees swing from this afternoon. Your jacket is going from optional to mandatory overnight.
Sunday stays cold and blustery. Highs struggle to reach 30 degrees in the northeast, 39 degrees in central Ohio, 45 degrees in the southwest. North winds at 10 to 12 miles an hour make it bite even harder.
Looking ahead. Monday stays chilly. Then Tuesday flips the script completely. A warm front charges north, launching temperatures back into the 50s and 60s. By Friday, parts of Ohio could touch 72 degrees. The catch? Rain arrives Tuesday and sticks around through next weekend. One to two inches possible, with some nuisance flooding on the table.
Folks, tonight might be the last time winter gets the final word for a while. Charge your phone, grab the heavy blanket. and let the cold front do its thing.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
