Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz.
That gray sky overhead? It's lying to you. Those clouds are about to break. and temperatures are making a run for 60 degrees. That's a 25-degree warm-up from our 30-degree start this morning.
In the next 24 hours. First, a heads up if you're driving early. Patchy dense fog has developed in valleys and low-lying areas. Visibility can drop fast, so take it slow until that fog burns off by mid-morning.
Down in Southwest Ohio, you're winning the warmth lottery today. Cincinnati and Dayton hit 60 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Tonight drops to 41, then Saturday brings 62 degrees and more sun. Your Saturday night turns interesting though. Rain moves in after 7 P.M., possibly mixing with snow by early Sunday morning.
Central Ohio sits right behind you. Columbus reaches 58 degrees today with mostly sunny skies. Tonight's low settles at 39. Saturday stays pleasant at 56 degrees. but Saturday night after 7 P.M., a cold front swings through with a chance of rain changing to snow.
Head north to Northeast Ohio and you'll notice a cooler feel. Cleveland and Akron top out at 52 degrees. That lake breeze keeps things chillier near Lake Erie. Tonight brings a slight chance of showers after 1 A.M., with gusts up to 25 miles an hour. Saturday cools to 43 degrees, then snow likely arrives Saturday night. About an inch possible by Sunday morning.
Today and Saturday give you the best conditions of the week. Enjoy them. Sunday turns colder with snow chances statewide. Monday stays chilly with lingering snow possible. Then a pattern shift Tuesday through Thursday. Temperatures rebound into the 50s and 60s, but rain becomes likely as Gulf moisture streams north.
We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox is just three weeks away.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care
