Show Notes

Good afternoon. North Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you might think the calendar is lying. We're sitting at 73 degrees right now under clear skies. That's running about 49 degrees warmer than usual for early March. The overnight low was 44, so we've already warmed up nicely. In the next 24 hours. Here's the setup. Highs today reach 75 to 76 degrees statewide under mostly sunny skies. The Piedmont and Triangle both hit the mid 70s with a gentle southwest breeze. Head west to the mountains and you'll find partly sunny skies with the same 75 degrees high, though tonight's low dips to 49 degrees. That's cooler than the Piedmont's 55. Tonight brings a full moon. It's a perfect evening to be outside. And you'll not even need a heavy jacket. Tomorrow morning, watch for patchy fog between 7 and 9 A.M., especially in the Triangle area. It burns off quickly. Highs Thursday climb to 76 to 79 degrees, even warmer than today. Looking ahead, this spring preview continues. Friday and Saturday both top out near 80 degrees. That's approaching record territory. But the pattern shifts Sunday. A front brings showers and thunderstorms, with rain likely by afternoon. That unsettled weather lingers into Monday before clearing Tuesday. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Sunrise is at 6:42 A.M., sunset at 6:13 P.M. The spring equinox is just two weeks away, but honestly? It already feels like spring arrived early. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
