Your morning North Carolina weather update
North Carolina faces a critical wildfire threat today as dry conditions combine with gusty winds statewide. With humidity dropping to just 20 percent and wind gusts reaching 35 miles per hour, any spark could quickly spread out of control. This morning starts mild at 52 degrees, but those northwest winds are already picking up, especially through the Piedmont where gusts hit 35 miles per hour before noon.
