Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Grab that coffee and look out the window. Gray. Damp. Forty four degrees. I know. Not inspiring. but don't let this morning fool you. In the next 24 hours., A cold air damming setup that's been keeping us socked in? It's falling apart right now. High pressure is sliding off the coast. and dry air is mixing down from above. That fog and overcast? Gone by late morning. What replaces it's genuinely gorgeous. Patchy fog hangs around the Piedmont until about 9 A.M. After that, skies open up to sunshine and 67 degrees. Ten degrees above normal for late February. That's jacket optional territory, folks. Tonight drops to a mild 44 degrees under clear skies. Over in the Triangle, the morning gray takes a little longer to burn off. Partly sunny by afternoon with a high near 65 degrees. Clear and 44 degrees overnight. The mountains shake off their own fog by mid morning. Mostly sunny, 66 degrees. Tonight turns cooler there. Lows near 40 degrees. Now tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day you remember. Highs surge into the low to mid 70s across the entire state. Nearly 33 degrees above normal. February pretending to be April. Open the windows. Take a long walk. Because what comes next is a plot twist. A cold front barrels through Sunday night. Monday? Temperatures crash 33 degrees to 33 degrees. Highs stuck in the mid to upper 40s with a slight chance of rain. The northern mountains and foothills could even see a wintry mix. Tuesday stays cool and cloudy. Then Wednesday bounces right back near 70 degrees. Thursday and Friday bring more warmth but increasing rain chances. Spring equinox is three weeks out.
