S1 Ep 202Episode 202: Robin Arnott, CEO of Andromeda Entertainment

E

I first met Robin Arnott, CEO of Andromeda Entertainment, at E3 many moons ago when he was showing an audio-based thriller game Deep Sea at the Indiecade booth. It was a true oddity -- a video game without video -- an immersive experience before we were throwing that term around as we now do. In the years since Robin and I have crossed paths on his home turf of Austin -- when I was working a story on indie games for NPR -- at GDC, and Indiecade. In my mind he's always been one of the "weird art kids" making games in the space beyond the horizon. So it was a shock when I was at an event months ago and learned that he had become the CEO of a start-up that was looking to redefine just what games could be. Robin? A CEO? Get ready for an adventure as we catch up, road trip style, from the heart of DTLA to the Hollywood Hills -- and from Austin's indie game scene to the philosophical frontier. Hosted on Acast. S1 Ep 184Episode 184: Jay Rinsky of Little Cinema

Little Cinema is a fixture in New York City's art scene, bringing films to life at the House of Yes and the Brooklyn Museum. They've also spread their wings to Bonnaroo, and have crafted a number of immersive premieres for television series from TNT. The latest of these for the series I Am The Night, which debuted this week on the network. We talk with founder Jay Rinsky about the company's arc, the striking work at the heart of the I Am The Night premiere, and forging a path between art and commerce. Also: creators should take note of the industry survey the Immersive Design Summit is conducting for an industry report to be released -- for free -- during the summit to the public. Hosted on Acast. S1 Ep 181Episode 181: NoPro Live - The Fifth Anniversary Show

E

For our fifth anniversary, we wanted to do something special, and we maybe went a little over the top. We hit up Two Bit Circus, where Josh Randall (Blackout) co-ordinates immersive experiences and got ahold of Club 01... and kicked the tires on a "late night" format. Brent Bushnell and Eric Gradman - the founders of Two Bit Circus are our first guests. Followed by Lauren Ludwig and Monica Miklas of Capital W, birthday boy Josh Randall (no, really, it was his BIRTHDAY and he did this for us), Stashhouse LA's Tommy Honton, and Steve Boyle of Epic Immersive who came down from SF. Anthony Robinson announces. Chris Porter does the music live. Ian Momii jumped in to run the soundboard at the last minute, and Noah Nelson is your host. Recorded live (so expect bumps) and listener discretion is advised. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

S1 Ep 180Episode 180: Carl Choi of The Great Company

Carl Choi is the founder and CEO of The Great Company, an experiential studio which in the past few years has emerged as a leader in producing and creating space for immersive work in LA. GreatCo teamed up with Jon Braver to produce Delusion and recently played host to Chained: A Victorian Nightmare. Like us, GreatCo is all in on immersive -- keeping the engines running by whatever means necessary while getting great projects out the door. We've been meaning to get Carl on the show for a while now, and sat down for a good long chat before the holidays. This episode is brought to you by listeners like you and Thymele Arts in LA, which provides office facilities for NoPro. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
