For this week's main podcast review, Dan Bayer and Tom O'Brien join me to discuss the latest film from Óliver Laxe, "Sirāt," starring Sergi López, Bruno Núñez Arjona, Richard Bellamy, Stefania Gadda, Joshua Liam Henderson, Tonin Janvier, and Jade Oukid. Co-written with Santiago Fillol, Laxe's film had its world premiere in the main competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize. It has been nominated at the 98th Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film (Spain) and Best Sound, with Amanda Villavieja, Laia Casanovas, and Yasmina Praderas becoming the first all-female sound team nominated. After months of festival screenings, the film is finally out officially from NEON. What did we think of it?
