We have now come to Richard Linklater's 12-year- long opus "Boyhood" starring Ellar Coltrane, Patricia Arquette, and Ethan Hawke. Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014 to universal critical acclaim, the gigantic independent film (shot over the course of 12 years) could not maintain its momentum until Oscar night where it lost Best Picture and Best Director, only winning one award for Patricia Arquette in the Best Supporting Actress category.
