Good evening. New Jersey. I'm Aaron Jolly. We're catching a serious break right now, you step outside and it actually feels like spring. 49 degrees and calm, but enjoy the quiet, folks. We've a serious situation developing for the start of your work week, monday brings a powerful system. We're talking heavy rain, strong winds. And even a risk of severe thunderstorms. Once that front clears, the bottom falls out. Temperatures crash Tuesday—readings about 23 degrees colder than normal for mid-March. Moving on. Let's break down your region. As the sun sets. North Jersey sits at 35 degrees under partly cloudy skies, while you drop to 35 tonight. Sunday looks pleasant with partly sunny skies and a high near 50, rain arrives Sunday night after 8 P.M. Monday turns wet and breezy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Highs reach 65. Some of that rain could come down heavy. Central Jersey is currently 34 degrees with mostly cloudy conditions, the low tonight is 34. Expect partly sunny skies Sunday with a high near 54, rain moves in Sunday night after 8 P.M. Monday brings showers and thunderstorms, the high jumps to 68. A few strong storms could develop. South Jersey sits at 38 degrees with mostly cloudy skies, while you hold at 38 tonight. Sunday features partly sunny skies and a high near 52, rain develops Sunday night. Monday stays wet with showers and thunderstorms, the high hits 57. Watch for gusty winds along the coast. Looking ahead. Looking at the week ahead. Monday is the main event, while we could see localized flash flooding with heavy rain. Winds may gust over 40 miles an hour, there's a marginal risk for severe weather, too. The cold front sweeps through Monday night, tuesday brings a chance of rain and snow showers early. Then, sunshine returns but it will be cold, highs Tuesday only reach the upper 30s to around 40. It stays brisk Wednesday, highs struggle to hit 40 degrees.
