Show Notes

Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the New Hampshire Weather Podcast for Saturday, February 21st. Folks, enjoy tonight. Seriously. Soak it in. Because this calm you're feeling right now? It's got an expiration date. Today gave us a gift. Two inches of fresh snow overnight, then the skies quieted down. Here's the deal. Step outside right now and you'll feel about 34 degrees across southern New Hampshire. Head up toward the White Mountains and it actually hit 35 degrees by early afternoon. The warmest spot in the state today was the mountains. That almost never happens. But here's the thing. A powerful nor'easter is spinning up off the Mid Atlantic coast. Winter Storm Watches are already posted for southern and central New Hampshire from Sunday evening through Monday night. This one means business. Here's your timeline. Sunday afternoon, clouds roll in. A few flurries sneak into the south around 3 P.M. Nothing scary yet. By Sunday night, snow turns steady. Winds crank to 15 miles an hour with gusts near 30. Midnight brings 2 to 4 inches in the south. Monday is the main event. Southern New Hampshire could see 6 to 10 inches of heavy snow. Central areas pick up 4 to 8. The mountains get 2 to 4, but winds gusting to 35 miles an hour will shred visibility. Near blizzard conditions are possible along the coast. Monday night the snow tapers, but lows crash to 18 degrees south and 6 degrees in the mountains. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Tuesday brings sunshine and a breather near 30 degrees. Wednesday drops another light round of snow. Thursday gets weird. Temperatures jump to 42 degrees with a rain and snow mix. Friday settles back near freezing with scattered showers. You'll want to adjust any Monday travel plans now. Stock up tomorrow morning. Charge your devices. Secure anything loose outside. One more thing. If this forecast helps you plan your week, share it with a neighbor. That's how we grow. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Stay safe out there, folks.
