Good morning. New Hampshire. I'm DJ Huzz.
Four degrees. That's the number on your thermometer right now. It's cold enough to freeze the breath right out of you. But don't let that sunshine fool you. The atmosphere is staging a takeover.
In the next 24 hours. High pressure is sliding offshore right now. That allows a low pressure system to organize over southern New England. It's pulling moisture directly into our cold air. Snow arrives this afternoon. And it times out perfectly with your drive home.
A Winter Weather Advisory runs from 1 P.M. Today through 4 A.M. Wednesday. You'll see 3 to 5 inches of snow statewide. Southern New Hampshire sees flakes start falling between 1 and 2 P.M. Push north into the White Mountains and snow begins around 4 P.M. The heaviest bands fall between 7 and 8 P.M. Tonight. Watch for a light glaze of ice in southern spots late tonight. It all wraps up after midnight.
Tonight's lows settle around 24 degrees. Then comes the plot twist. Wednesday wakes up sunny and hits 52 degrees. That's a massive 30 degrees jump from this morning. Wednesday night falls back to 22 degrees under clear skies.
Thursday brings another round of mixed precipitation. Friday looks unsettled with possible snow or rain. Then the weekend turns mild with highs near 55. Monday could push 60 degrees.
We're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight every day. Tonight's full moon shines through the breaking clouds after the snow ends. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
