Good afternoon. Nevada. I'm Matt Mullins. Before we dive in. You sprung forward this morning. Yeah, you lost an hour of sleep. But here's your reward: sunset tonight is after 6:40 P.M. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight every single day now. And spring officially arrives in just 12 days. Step outside right now and you'll feel what a perfect early March day looks like. Wall to wall sunshine. Clear skies from border to border. And temperatures climbing into the 70s across most of the state. Las Vegas hits 76 degrees this afternoon under brilliant blue skies. Light north winds around 6 miles an hour. Tonight drops to 51 degrees — perfect evening weather if you ask me. Up in Reno and the northern valleys. Here comes 71 degrees today. But here's the thing: tonight plunges to 38 degrees. That's a 33 degrees swing, so if you're heading out late, layer up. Eastern Nevada reaches 64 degrees with southwest winds gusting to 10 miles an hour. Tonight falls to 33 degrees. Now here's where it gets interesting. Monday brings even more warmth. Las Vegas climbs to 79 degrees. Reno hits 70. Eastern areas reach 64 again with breezy southwest winds up to 15 miles an hour. Tuesday cools briefly as a weak trough passes through northern Nevada. More clouds, slightly cooler temps — Reno drops to 64, eastern areas to 53. Winds pick up Tuesday afternoon, gusting to 35 miles an hour in spots. But that cooldown? Short lived. By Wednesday, sunshine returns and temperatures start climbing again. Las Vegas reaches 80 Wednesday, then 85 Thursday. And could hit 88 by Friday. Here comes 25 degrees to 20 degrees above normal by week's end — potentially record territory for mid March. If you're spending time outdoors this week, stay hydrated. Early season heat catches people off guard. Enjoy the beautiful day today. See you this evening.
