Show Notes

Good evening. Nebraska. I'm Michael Mosby. Folks, step outside and you might think winter cancelled, that spring warmth is a total bluff. Because a serious cold front is charging in. As the sun sets. Tonight starts deceptively mild with rain arriving after 1 A.M. Across Eastern Nebraska. You'll wake up to a sloppy mix changing over to snow by Sunday morning. Accumulation stays minor, just 1 to 2 inches, but the wind is the real headline. Gusts hitting 56 miles an hour will make 27 degrees feel like minus 11 by Sunday night. That's a brutal 50-degree crash in 24 hours. Down in Southeast Nebraska, you catch the edge of that rain around 1 A.M. With mostly cloudy skies. Sunday tops out near 40 degrees before temperatures tumble into the 20s by the afternoon. Northwest winds are ferocious here too, gusting to 59 miles an hour, while lows Sunday night hit 8 degrees with wind chills near minus 10. Hold onto your hats—literally. Western Nebraska, you see rain first, likely before 5 A.M., then a shot at snow as the cold air rushes in. Highs Sunday only reach 33 degrees. Winds howl between 35 and 40 miles an hour, with gusts potentially hitting 60. Lows Sunday night drop to 10 degrees, feeling like minus 8 degrees with the wind chill. Here's the pattern for the week ahead. Monday stays sunny but bitter, with highs stuck in the 20s and 30s. Then the thermometer does a complete flip, we surge back to the 50s Tuesday, hit the 70s Wednesday. And Thursday could flirt with 80 degrees. As the sun sets. Secure those trash cans tonight. — See you tomorrow.
