The books contain information on the spheres used in The Tunnels. But the Captain has a problem. He needs General Kalamity's help if he is going to get his hands on them. Elsewhere in Middling Fair, Abby Falmacher pays a visit to Detective Haartte. And it isn't a social call. She wants to hire the private eye to investigate several troubling and mysterious incidents.
