A bleak outlook for the world economy has compelled a number of IT companies and Wall Street giants to lay off employees across offices in different countries. The tech quartet-Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Meta—have already announced mass layoffs. Indian employees have been affected too. But tech is just part of the story.
