Show Notes

Apple's walled garden crumbles! Apple has announced changes to its App Store and iOS ecosystem in compliance with the European Union’s new Digital Markets Act which now allows users to download apps on rival app stores and pay outside their system. This could have been huge for users, developers, and the future of tech but developers didn't seem to think so. Why were developers up in arms? Will the curated App Store experience disappear? Will other regulators follow the EU's lead? Host Dia Rekhi talks to Tom Smith, a specialist in competition law and digital regulation, and Eric Seufert, an independent analyst and investor at Heracles Capital.
